DON'T HATE ME FOREVER, I'M BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
Ahhhhhhhhh! I can't believe it's been this long since I've updated the website. I'm sorry. I really thought it wasn't that much time that has gone by. Anyways as you can see I've changed the layout a little bit of the site and there are a few new pieces up. I've been working like crazy and am ready to put up some more new art soon. Went to WonderCon and Monsterpalooza recently and seen a lot of rad art and met a lot of cool people. I can only hope one day I can have my art there. Getting ready for a trip to the East Coast in July that I'm super stoked on! Got a bird....sometimes he likes to wake me up when I'm not ready to get up - I like sleep. Been listening to lots of Mxpx, The Band Perry and....wait for it.....country music! GASP! I know. I told you I really do like all kinds of music. Anyways just wanted to check in and let you know I haz a new layout. Gotta get back to work and turn into a zombie.

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES THIS DIFFERENCE IN AGE MAKE?
So excited to say I've FINALLY finished the coloring on my old Shaun of the Dead piece!!!! Check it out in the Illustration section. I have another piece I'm currently working on that's almost finished and should hopefully be up this month. The Christmas cards with my "OH" drawing should be coming in soon too so when those do I will post pictures of them so be sure to check my blog regularly. It's been really cold and windy lately in CA and I've been busy with all kinds of projects that I can't wait till Christmas when I can finally take a mini vacation! Been listening to lots of old Brand New, New Found Glory and Top 40 music. Hope everyone's December's going well so far! Will post another update soon.

It's been forever since I've updated and I apologize. I've been super busy beyond belief! As you can see though, I've changed the layout a little! YOU CAN'T FORGET THE MONSTERS IN YOUR BED
I know, I haven't updated in forever! Sowwies :( A lot has happened in the last few months including my birthday a few days ago! Working on a whole bunch of new stuff that I hope to have up soon. Also, expect a newly designed site in the future! Just wanted to check in though and let you all know I'm still alive (for those who care...which I only think is my mom, dog and maybe 1 or 2 random people who stalk me) and still making art! Been listening to lots of The Summer Set, Blake Shelton (yeah I know, blame The Voice), Cameron Mitchell (again with those music TV shows! But I mean come one, have you seen Cameron?! Swoon. <3 All my ladies know what I'm talking about. And if Cameron's not your cup of tea then I suggest drooling over Damian because who doesn't love a boy with an accent!?!!!), Sex Pistols, and ohemgee I cannot get that one Hot Chelle Rae song out of my head!....I woke up with a strange tattoo Not sure how I got it, not a dollar in my pocket And it kinda looks just like you Mixed with Zach Galifianakis. Well I better get back to work so until then....

AND TODAY WAS A DAY JUST LIKE ANY OTHER
The New Found Glory comic is now up in the Illusration section. Yay! I don't know if all the guys have seen it, but I know Chad has and he told me liked it! There's also something up in the Design section and a picture up in the Media section of a friend who got a tattoo of one of my drawings!!??!! It's pretty sweet so check it out yo. The SOD piece is coming along and I hope to have it done before summer. Been working on a lot of design stuff lately, hardly no time for drawing. Got a sweet care package from Man Overboard in the mail the other day with a whole bunch of cool merch and the shirts I designed for them. Been to shows here and there, and when I'm not stalking Andrew McMahon with my best friend I'm working. Listening to a lot of Mew, Muse, Max Bemis, Man Overboard - whoa with the M's! K well I gotta get back to returning emails. I'll be back soon!

AT LEAST I'M NOT AS SAD AS I USED TO BE
Wow, I didn't realize it's been that long since I've updated! I'm sorry. I completely made up for the past few months though by putting up a lot of old and new pieces. Doh! I just realized as I'm typing this that I forgot to put up the New Found Glory comic!! Sigh. Oh well, it'll get up eventually. Like I was saying though, lots of new and old stuff so just take a look around. Still drawing (for myself) any chance I get so I hope to have a lot of new illustrations up this year. Be sure to check my blog frequently as I update that almost daily. Lots and lots of Suburban Legends, Melee, You Me & Everyone We Know, Nightmares For A Week and I Call Fives have been blasting through my speakers lately. Oh and Steel Train! <3 Until next time....

MY HEART CAVES IN WHEN I LOOK AT YOU
I know I know I haven't updated in a while, but I have an excuse! Besides being super busy my internet was down for a while (and it drove me completely insane. I don't wish this upon anyone lol) which is why I haven't posted any new works. But now I'm back online, and well I'm still not quite yet posting new works, but I wanted to tell you guys that the shirt I designed for New Jersey band Man Overboard is now up for sale on their webstore. You can check it out here. I'm super stoked on this being that MO is one of my favorite bands. I may not be the greatest artist and my work may not be up in galleries or people may not know who I am, but I love what I do when I get to do it. YOU DON'T DO IT ON PURPOSE BUT YOU MAKE ME SHAKE
I know I haven't updated the site in forever with new work, I apologize. The last couple of weeks have been really busy for me. I spent a week in August following around Something Corporate on their reunion tour. 2 states + 6 shows + 8 days + my friend Chelsea and I = good times! I even got to show Andrew my tattoo (inspired by his lyrics for "Swim") so that was cool. One of the highlights of the week is we got to go to an after party and ran into Tommy Lee! Totally had an Almost Famous moment, you know, thinking you're super cool when you know you're really not that cool. Yeah. Once all that calmed down I began my super huge stack of work (which still seems like it hasn't shrunk) that included some logo designs, clothing and art prints. I also was inspired by the 3G art show going on at Gallery 1988 in L.A. right now to do my own ode to the classics. I just really wanted an excuse to draw some gremlins, that and I knew my friend Mitchell and Charlie would be the only other people as stoked as I would be to see the finished results! So you can peep those in the illustration section of the site. I didn't have a time to do a Goonies inspired print which I was pretty bummed about, but fear not, I promise I will return to the oh so amazing genre of 80's horror for future prints. I already have some ideas in my head for an epic homage to The Monster Squad! (Just thinking about it is making me nerd out!) Updated the links section of the site too with a few new ones so you can go bug my friends. Been listening to lots of Something Corporate (obviously), Man Overboard, I Call Fives, VersaEmerge, We Are The In Crowd and watching wayyyyyy too much Veronica Mars. I'M WRITING YOU A CHORUS AND HERE IS YOUR VERSE
Busy last couple of weeks. Comic Con was great as always! Got to hang out with some of my favorite dudes Brian Ewing and Jermaine Rogers for a little bit! Go check out their artwork if you don't know who they are. They're huge inspirations of mine and awesome guys for letting me bug them all the time! As always, those few days in San Diego left my wallet empty and I didn't even buy half of what I wanted. Checked out some cool panels (Always Sunny was amazing!) and hung out with some good friends. Then as soon as all that craziness was over, the fun continued with my birthday!!! To say I'm exhausted is an undertatement. During all this I did manage to do a simple illustration that you can all see now. Though it was finished last week, I decided to wait until today to put it up because today is the 1 year anniversary of my website! Happy Birthday www.melissasanchezart.com!! Small changes to the site for the occasion, nothing too big. Been listening to a lot of With The Punches, The Crosstown Rivalry, Four Year Strong and The Unlovables. I'll be at Warped Tour in Pomona in a couple of weeks so come say hi if you spot me in the pit or something. Hopefully I'll be working on a bunch of new projects soon that I can share with you guys. ON THE FOURTH DAY OF JULY, DEEP IN SUMMER'S EYE
Hello all. So I did a T-shirt design that I tweeted about a couple of weeks ago that I've yet to put up on the site. I apologize. I left the files on my work comp so come next week I'll grab those and throw them on here. I also was lucky enough to do another gig poster, this time for Unwritten Law. I'm pretty stoked about that! Listened to a lot of Nofx and Home Grown (That's Business era) while working on this. The show's tonight so if you're in the So. Cal area you should go! I would love to be there but unfortunately I had prior committments and I will be at Hootenanny today. Actually on my way as soon as I finish typing this. Gonna see Old 97's, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis! Excited!! The last thing is if you noticed I put a blog link on my page. Seems like everyone's about Tumblr nowadays. I've had one for a while but I was really bad at updating it. I decided to jump back on and post regularly. I'm stoked that I can finally announce that I just finished a poster for Authority Zero & AMI Productions. You can check it out under the Gig Posters section of the site. I listened to a lot of Finch while working on this. Not sure if this was because I was in a Finch mood, or because I was drawing birds like crazy and well, a finch is a bird. Anyways, I'm super excited about the poster. There's also a new logo I designed in the Design section. I should have a few more new things up by this weekend. Brand New (YFW era), Living With Lions and Senses Fail have been taking over my headphones, as well as New Years Day. Go listen to their song "Mrdr"!!!!

SAY IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT
There is a new drawing up in the Illustration section. It's sort of a self portrait except for the fact that it looks nothing like me! I guess it's more of a representation of all my favorite bands/all the bands that made a difference or had some sort of impact in my life. There's actually A LOT MORE but I couldn't fit all of them into one drawing! Anyways I hope you like it. I'm hoping to be posting more new stuff here in the upcoming months. Been listening to a lot of Balance and Composure, La Dispute, Polar Beat Club and Heatmiser, as well as Allison Weiss, so you should check them out. Hope you all have a great Memorial Day! POP ROCKS
I realllllllyyyyy suck at updating this so it's probably best to follow me on Twitter (@Melissa_Art) to keep up to date with stuff. I promise I am working on new stuff - I just haven't had time to finish things because I have what many artists know as a "day job" - gotta pay the bills! Anyways, I'm putting the finishing touches on a Movielife inspired tattoo for my friend so I'm stoked about it! Still haven't finished the NFG comic - it's taking a lot out of me on that one hah! As far as illustration goes, I've done some sketching here and there, and worked on a few personal pieces that I don't think I'll be putting up on the site. Don't take it personal though, I'm not showing anyone! Except maybeeee my dog. In the Design world though I've been pumping out stuff left and right - though that's because it has to do with my day job. At least it keeps me busy. Still going to shows when I get a chance. Been listening to a LOT of The Spill Canvas and The Wonder Years! Other than that nothing much going on. Comic Con soon!!! Stoked. Until then....
